General Waste Facilities
Following the piece in the Parish newsletter on the ending of dumping of waste at Bagshot and Bracknell, we have received a large number of emails. This matter has come before the Parish Council and we have taken this up forcefully with the Royal Borough who are in negotiations with neighbouring authorities.

  • We understand the inefficient use of energy and time in taking rubbish to Stafferton Way, Maidenhead.
  • With rising land-fill taxes, every Council must reduce waste to same.  So the Borough seeks to promote recycling and waste reduction schemes.
  • Every solution that we are working on has a cost associated with it and these costs have to be closely examined as the Borough is determined not to raise Council taxes this coming year.
With that in mind we are pursuing this with the Borough to come up with a low cost solution that can be implemented without too much delay.
Anne Martin, Clerk to the Parish Council.

These have been achieved with assistance from the Big Lottery grants – Community Sustainable Energy Programme and the Low Carbon Building Programme, and a final grant from EDF Energy. As part of the Sustainability work of the Royal Borough, Sunningdale’s renewable energy helps towards the national goal of achieving 20% of our energy from renewable sources by 2020 – a goal that is likely to be missed.
